How we write and check the hip pages

Authors

Analyze My Hip is published by the small JointLens team. The same people write the hip guides, build the viewer and answer messages. We have no hip surgeon or musculoskeletal radiologist on staff and no medical reviewer, so pages are credited to the site itself. We would rather show no reviewer than a made-up one.

What AI does here

AI language models help write first drafts and translate finished pages. A team member decides the scope, edits the text and checks hip-specific claims against the cited sources. Non-English pages are AI translations of the English original, which remains the reference. On the analyzer side, several general-purpose AI models read the hip images you select and reply in plain language; those replies are not reviewed by a person before you see them.

Sources we trust for hip topics

We prefer primary sources: the original description of the Tönnis grades for hip osteoarthritis, the Garden classification of femoral neck fractures, and the Warwick Agreement on femoroacetabular impingement. We back them with peer-reviewed reviews from PubMed and guidance from the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American College of Radiology. Main references are listed in the Sources section of each medical page. Commercial clinic pages are not used as sources.

The limits of a hip guide

These pages are general information. They are not medical advice and not a diagnosis of your hip. A guide can explain what a cam lesion or a labral tear is, but whether you need an injection, physiotherapy or surgery is a decision for a clinician who knows your history. Sudden hip pain after a fall in an older adult can mean a fracture and needs urgent care. See our Medical Disclaimer.

Keeping hip pages up to date

Guides display the date of their last update. A hip page is re-checked when a guideline or classification it relies on changes, or when someone reports a problem. We do not claim a regular review cycle for every page.

Tell us about a mistake

Corrections go through the form below. Name the page and quote what seems wrong; a better source is welcome. We fix confirmed errors and update the page date.

Hip scans never leave your device as files

Hip MRI, CT and X-ray files are decoded in your browser and are not uploaded or stored by us. For an AI explanation we send only rendered pictures of the slices you picked and your text. Read the Privacy Policy for details.
